Edited by: Overlord Anubis on 20/11/2009 12:34:32 CCP you guys should be in the Obama administration with how youÆre planning sweeping changes to the economy to make people move to other income faucets, by in essence nerfing their current one(s). Keep in mind historically when you try to do changes like this it never works out like you expected.
Here is one example:
"noone will ever need more than 640k" or CCP " we did not think more than a few titans would ever be built"
DO NOT MAKE massive, broad changes to multiple income generating paths all at once. Dropping the prices on Motherships along with the market dynamics and resulting secondary effects of your changes could lead to an economic depression in EVE.
I seriously believe you do not want to keep 0.0 as an extremely profitable lure to empire corps. YouÆre replacing passive income sources in 0.0 with extremely effort intensive income sources. This is going to backfire. You need to make 0.0 extremely profitable not only with ratting, and other kill related skills, but industry skills. Massive ark? I see nerfed high-end zyd / mega prices.
Want to open 0.0 to empire, your new sov system helps but you keep making changes to income streams. With every blog you seem to shift the 0.0 income to effort income. No one, Yeah that will lure people in, - the :effort: vs. reward income generation with all of the changes is close to making 0.0 income more of a job than a game.
I humbly tell you if you do not wish to totally ****ing up the fish bowl that is eve, you need to do a few changes at a time over a month or two for example. Otherwise I guarantee you do not know the ramifications nor do I bargain most people it will have. Stop taking lessons from president Obama and his falling polices. meddling in every sector of the free market at once is a screw you to people that have been specializing their characters for years to do what they are doing now in addition to months if not years developing their business. In one patch the mineral market, moon market, ice market, capital ship market, etc. are going too effected.
If you are trying to ruin your game by doing things to manipulate market and professions then you are doing a pro job.

These new changes to eve smell of socialism. Why not just tax the rich plays and give the income to the new players.

We were all new players and paid our dues. We worked hard to make isk and move up the isk generating food chain. If you do not have high profit top level opportunities in each profession, what is the lure to stay in eve and spend 18 months striving to reach that goal.

Ridiculously cheap capital ships, moon nerf, I can see reducing the extremely high prices but they are artificially inflated. If r32 and r16 are worth more than an r64 after the patch, I guess that does open the market to newer players, but it is a direct manipulation of the market.

giant roids, letÆs make it less profitable for high end miners. Large roids that spawn everyday will saturate the market with mega and zyd. What is the lure for miners in null sec when that happens? Next Ice miners sorry we are screwing you over via all the alliances no longer needing all that fuel.
